Charred Vasambu powder can be given to babies of all ages. For very small babies (1 - 6 months), use breast milk instead of honey.
- The powder can be mixed with water and applied as a tika on the forehead of babies (popular practice in India).
- This powder can be mixed with coconut oil and applied externally on the baby's tummy for gas related problems.

Great article about the benefits of vasambu 🙂 really helpful to all new moms, honey is not recommended for babies below 1 year so till one year it can be mixed with breast milk and can be given to baby.
Thanks Hemapriya.. Well, yeah guess some do say honey is not recommended below 1 year. But we were all given vasambu with honey – but just two drops of it and it was perfectly fine. But then, breast milk is always safer.
