Ixora coccinea acts as a blood purifier, treats leucorrhoea, diarrhea, dysmenorrhoea, haemoptysis, dysentery and dysmenorrhoea.
To treat leucorrhoea, the flowers are grinded as paste and this paste will be added in buttermilk. This drink is very effective in treating white discharge.
The flowers boiled in water and prepared as decoction cures fever. The flowers contain an essential oil which has anti-microbial activity.
To treat dysentery take dried root of this plant is ground well with black pepper. Consume 20g of this powder by adding in water or buttermilk, twice in a day.
To treat diarrhea take root bark of ixora coccinea and long pepper. Grind both and make powder. Take 2 g of this powder in lukewarm water twice in a day.
The decoction made with ixora coccinea root is useful for nausea, hiccups, and anorexia.
The decoction made with leaves cures wounds and skin ulcers. Fresh leaves are good to treat sprains, boils and contusions.
