When a person does a lot of work physically, it is natural to experience pain in different body parts. Sometimes a good hot shower will refresh you, sometimes you need to do something further to relieve pain. There are many over the counter medicines that you can consumes or apply externally to find relief. But when it comes to pain in the neck muscles because of strain, it is always better to choose natural remedies.

One good way is to use herbs like a poultice on the affected area. This DIY explains how to use Adhatoda leaves and coconut oil to relieve pain in the neck.

Benefits of Adhatoda leaves: Adhatoda is one of the popular herbs that are used in many natural medicines and practices. The leaves, stem, flower and roots are used in preparing medicines in Ayurveda and Sidha. This plant grows abundantly in India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. It is easy to grow as it does not need any particular type of soil. This herb contains many medicinal benefits in it. It is very rich in carotene and Vitamin C. It is used to treat cough, cold, bronchitis, jaundice, sore throat, TB – tuberculosis, fever, body pain and chest congestion.

The anti-inflammatory property in this leaf, helps to reduce inflammation in the muscles, hence reduces pain. When mixed with the right ingredients, it can cure pain effectively.

Benefits of coconut oil: Coconut oil comes in very handy when it comes to skin, hair and body health. This oil penetrates the skin and relieves pain in muscles effectively. It reduces inflammation and soothes the strained muscles. When applied regularly, it increases the bone strength and helps easy movement of muscles. Coconut oil reduces the stiffness in the muscles and joints.
